Abstract

The objective of this research was to create community savings and loan groups for rural women in Priority Micro-regions of the Colegio de Postgraduados Campus Cordoba in Veracruz, Mexico. The methodology used consisted of a participatory action research approach in which the facilitating institution proposed the implementation of a community finance model for the financial inclusion of rural women in a context of high vulnerability to internal and external risks on the part of the rural families to which they belong. The impact of the outreach project enabled the human development of the participants, the formation of a savings fund, and the creation of social ties, as well as greater visibility for the women participating in community self-management processes.
